Petrol in airbox...
I have just bought a 1999 F650st and noticed that there is petrol in the airbox...!!!
Whoever had it before clearly knew about this because there are lots of holes drilled in odd places in the airbox to let it out!!!! Can anyone offer any insight into this specific to BMW's (all new to me). My thoughts are immediately of float settings or sticking. Any advice gratefully received prior to a dismantle night!! All the best, Dave |

A friend of mine she had the same problem. I changed the float valve and everything was okay. If the float chamber gets full the petrol will leak into the airbox or cylinder.
