To clarify: ANY heavy weight, whether on a rack OR on the seat, can cause the rear frame to break. BUT so long as you do not exceed the weight of a passenger you are probably ok. The BMW racks are about 1mm thick tubing if I remember right from the broken ones I've seen. So nowhere near as strong as the Touratech. I would suggest taking the bike to a good welder and getting the rear frame strengthened, or go to Touratech or Wudo or HPN and see what they suggest - they aren't that far from you! ------------------ Grant Johnson Share the Dream! at: www.HorizonsUnlimited.com
