Lowering a 650GS

I was told by a BMW dealer that the only way to lower the bike is at the factory when it is built! Is that correct? Do I have to buy a bran new bike for that? I can't imagine many 2d hand 650s will be lowered.... Or is there a way round it? I know Touratech sells seats that are 3cm lower than the standard seat and I will get it but it's still a bit too high.... Advice welcome!
Thanks,
Maria

Try this link http://www.koubalink.com/bmwdakar.html (they offer a lower linkage)
and drop the front forks an inch or two. Defenetly no nead to purchase a new bike.
