BMW K75 Ultima (1998) Clutch Cable

Hi, my clutch cable broke on Friday and luckily the agent got a new one to me that evening. Thanks to Bavarian Motorcycles of Pretoria, South Africa. (Christo in particular) Late this afternoon I found the time to change it. Fed the new cable in from the handlebar as I followed the old one out. Then I hit a snag. Where the cable goes through the housing for the swinging arm. How does one get the cable and Booties through this hole? Must the cable go in from the bottom up or from the top down? Does the swinging arm have to be loosened or removed to get the cable in and out?
Please help urgently. I have the Haynes Service & Repair Book and they seem to have omitted this as I can't find it anywhere.

Tie the transmission end of the new cable to the lever end of the old
one (or vise-versa). Now when you remove the old one it will route
the new one in the correct location. It can be difficult to figure
out the correct routing once the old cable is gone.

Thanks Moto Edde for the advise, the important piece of info I need though is:
"Where the cable goes through the housing for the swinging arm. How does one get the cable and Booties through this hole?"
and

Hi OldPete, thanks for your help, Like you said, I dropped Don a line and he came through for me.
His Answer was "soap and water, and you pull it up/through. Pull the new one through the other way (top down) more soap/water - and be careful you don't tear the rubber bellows."
In other words, I pulled the old cable up from the housing for the swinging arm and feed the new one down through the housing for the swinging arm.
I just modified his suggestion and coated the rubber bootie or bellows with Castrol Red Rubber Grease and once finished wiped the excess grease off of everything.
I then found I had lost the nipple that goes on the handle bar clutch lever end of the cable when the cable snapped.
I will get a new one from the agent on Monday, but came up with a temporary fix by cutting the old one off of the bottom of the old cable with a hacksaw with a cut wide enough to go over the cable. I then slid the modified old nipple onto the new cable at the clutch lever end.
