Hello, just a small doubt that came to my mind reading the instructions I received with my new-ish (from ebay) WILBERS fork springs...

"Achtung: Der progressive Teil der feder (enge federwindungen) muss sich oben finden"

Which way up do the things go ?

Any idea how much fork oil should go in...or whould I go for the tape measure method? ;-)

Hi,that means that the progressive part of the spring must go in the upper direction,also on top!

Don't forget thet the progressive part of the spring is the end with the narrower windings!

Not that I really know about that stuff, but for whatever its worth, you will find many threads about the benefits of having them mounted up-side down.
I had my new one mounted that way (i.e. the "wrong" way), and have been pleased with the handling of my R100GS. Now, the make to a complete analysis I should get them installed the "proper" way to find out about the difference...but i didn't!

it has options of translating from lots of languages into lots of others. It translated the German bit you quoted as

doesn't really make a difference whether the progressive section is top or bottom. The spring stays the same - IMHO the progressive section should be on top to reduce the unsprung masses. The narrow wound part is the heavier section and should subsequently be there where the coil movement is the least.
