It's not a endurolast-system GSpeter refers to.
The endurolast system uses a rotor with permanent magnet (no slip rings). This rotor should not fail but the system has some other issues and it not's compatible with the ignition system from Silent Hektik.

Parts for Ducati is not easy to find in Africa or Asia but a lot of people like the setup: Welcome to Euro Motoelectrics! EnduraLast BMW

Ignition-Airhead

Greetings AliBaba, drop the heated clothing for the present, though I would like to have that option in the future. I still need to run my lights and and heated grips. On my K100 the charge lamp flickers even at motorwayspeeds. I see from your previous posts that you have encountered, and solved, every electrical weakness on Basics that our German friends can devise.
In short, I need a reliable, and field servicable, update, for the electrics. As I am reliably informed that stock alternator and diode plate are apt to fail, so I have to have reserve parts, then I might as well upgrade and get the best, and the extra watts.
I'm planning a run to Primus Treffen in Feb, and would like to have the electrics sparking away before that. Then in Sept. I leave for a long trip.
Hope you have time to give me some advice.
Peter, in Oslo

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
