Hi Nobby,
I am seriously considering buying one of these too as the standard rear brake is pretty poor. I was waiting to see what replies you got before I ordered one but it looks like there's no-one out there who has experience of the thing. I will therefore buy it anyway and let you know what I think. You could even try it too, as I live near London. Richard. |

The stock brake is pathetic, and just about anything would be an improvement.
I'm just trying to get a mental picture of a "floating brake cam" and failing totally... So buy it and let us know how it works! And perhaps a better picture or two than the HPN site gives. Also, does it REQUIRE their brake shoes or are they standard BMW brake shoes? ------------------ Grant Johnson Seek, and ye shall find. ------------------------ One world, Two wheels. www.HorizonsUnlimited.com

hi,
I finally saved up enough money to buy the HPN cam and brake shoes ( 230 euros ) and I can say that it is noticably better than the standard brake. However, on my first day riding with this brake I have blown the gearbox oil seal and I now have oil all over my rear wheel ( I'll let you know more about the brake when I'm running again. |

Just wanted to add that I have now got my bike back on the road and can safely say that the floating brake cam is much better than the standard item. I can lock up the rear wheel now, which I couldn't do before.
Nobby, if you want to try it out, get in touch. Richard. |
