Hello
New member here. I have a question. Can the black SM rear wheel be used with an off road tire such as a TKC
Thanks Mike

A better question would be do conti make the TKC in that rim size, which is??? I reckon conti or a dealer would be the people to ask. I don't think that even BMW make a wheel size that needs a special tyre....

HP2 wheels

Hello
The reason I ask about the SM rim, I would like to run a TKC but the off road rim is for a 17 inch 140 Karoo T. The TKC 140 is not imported to the USA I've been told. The SM rim is wider and will accept a 150 which is available in the TKC, but I worry the black rim may not be as strong as the bronze off road rim. I hope some one from this forum might know. The Karoo T only lasted about 2000 miles before it erased itself. I want to ride, not spend every other weekend changing tires.

I ran a TKC 150 rear on a Cagiva Elefant for a big overland trip and got amazing mileage out of it (15,000km and it had life left in it when I changed it). That said it was my first time on a bike so the first tyre didnt get much stick for the first 1000 miles or so. I had standard Cagiva alloy rims, I would imagine the SM ones will hold up fine (hopefully they are spoked!)

Thanks for the information. It is a spoke wheel. The rim is a Behr. I'm going to try the 150 TKC. I'm an old guy and I don't ride that hard.
