Hawker Batteries for 1150GS
 

Having trashed the battery on my 1150GS, I'm looking at replacing it with a Hawker battery from Touratech.
However, in their catalogue they say that you need to buy a 10 euro adapter plate for it. Does this mean that the battery is smaller or larger, and if so, is there going to be a space problem with my burgalar alarm? (Standard BMW, between battery and seat)
I've also noticed that they sell a special charger for these batteries, does this mean my old one will then be obsolete????

It's smaller. Don't know why it would need a different charger. Give Bracken a ring - they are the Touratech experts - jolly nice helpful chaps too. 020 7232 1814.

Oh, I see you're in Austria! I guess it makes a bit more sense to ring Touratech! Let us know what they say - I want a Hawker for my 1150 GS too.

I've put one on my R100GS - its much smaller than the original. I used some inner tubes to wedge it in tight. A BMW mechanic recently added a piece of cork board, which is useful. Being gel batteries, they are less susceptible to being bounced around.
