If I had a $ each time I read and heard this Pongo!
The costs some have incurred on their travels (when their bm wobble-u goosed and they did not know what was wrong with it) are way way more than one of those.
You can tell almost instantly whether us it is fixable with your or others skills or whether it's 'lift on truck' time.
Having owned a 1200gs and a F650 dakar I would not ride to tescos (!) without mine.
I use it as part if my servicing routines and have also helped others with it. IMHO owning a bm and not having one of those is a very false economy. Unless of course you stay in the EU and have roadside recovery!
Just an added thought-
Can you post up the details of the retailer where you say you can get one for only €260?
at that price there maybe others who would like to benefit from such a low price. That woudl be useful- thanks-
