F650GS - 2007 Brake Light Stays On
hi,
I'm in Costa Rica and noticed that my brake light seems to stay on all the time. I've tinkered with the tab switch by the rear brake lever and it's not fixing the problem. Any ideas what I could look at to fix this? I won't be near any BMW dealerships until I'm in Mexico in a couple of weeks. Thanks for any suggestions you can think of. |

If it's not the rear brake switch, then I would check the front brake switch. Not sure about F650 but usually located near the front brake reservoir. If either of these switches sticks closed it will cause your brake light to remain on.
Best luck, John

Switches can often get clogged with dirt, give them both a good spray of your favorite light oil and exercise them.

Thanks for the replies. Initially I figured out that it was the rear brake switch which was bent and not pushing the switch back in. I had now way of bending it back without dismantling the whole assembly so I just left it. Now it's on all the time no matter what I do with the lever. I'll try the advice of spraying it.
