F 650 Overland Bike???? What to do ????

Hi guys!

I have a F 650 1994 Model with only 10000km,looks like new and would like to transform it in a good Overland Touring bike. What do you recommend? I like to go a lot offroad too. I put a fork from a xt 600 in the bike with the 21 inch front wheels, right now I want to take off the plastik and headlight an put on a normal light(like XT 600). I want to put on the Michelin T63 and a smaller sprocket in the front. I trust the reliability of the bike, but I have no idea about the offroad riding.....with this bike. I had plenty of japanese bikes and I think they were all better....... Teneres, KLRs, DR 350.....

Does anybody know a website where I can find some pictures?

Thanks - Jens

Overland

Get the F 650 back to original, sell it and get a Jap bike. They are all better as soon as the tarmac ends :-)

Get the F 650 back to original and ride it!
Comfortable on tarmac and not to bad on dirtroads. Reliable and fuel efficient. Mine does +/- 25 km on a liter.
If I would modify mine, I would go for the big Touratech tanks for more range and a good lockable hard luggage set. Maybe a Garmin GPS.
Just my two cents.

Okay, back to original....

Okay, perhaps i put it back to original - but first I will try what I can get out of this bike....I don´t have a lot of money to spend, but a lot of used bike parts..... Let´s see what happens!

I really would like to do a trip on this bike - don´t ask me why???

Of course I will feel sorry for my 150 000km Tenere to leave her at home,

Sorry- sorry-sorry........

The final decision - in a couple of months... No more winter in Germany!

Jens
