Smile New 2010 K1300GT looking for feedback on seat, windshield & GPS

I'm a newbie here and I just took delivery of my 2010 K1300GT. Getting some ride coaching Wednesday. Planning on being in Nakusp and launching my RTW from there.

I don't know what I don't know, hope to gain some insight from some of the members vast experience here...

Just getting started breaking in this bike and the two greatest weaknesses I'm experiencing is the seat and windshield.

Seat: the factory seat just jamns me up and I've lowered the seat and still my package goes numb. Hoping to find a more comfy seat. Looking at a Corbin seat anyone using a Corbin or have any suggestions?

Windshield: I'm looking at the vstream windshield from National Cycle. Again, what have you tried or recommend?

GPS: the BMW nav4 system is unavailable and in production no delivery dates from BMW. Anyone using a diff GPS system on your BMW?

Posted in wrong section?

Ok, I'm new here... have I posted this to the wrong category?

I'm surprised no one has any feedback in seats, windshields and gps?

Hello Greg, I just found your post via Google search, not via this forum:

I got my 2010 K13GTSE with bigger windshield. It was an option (at least in Australia).

I don't have complains against the seat, because I find it ok.

As for GPS I had my old Zumo 550 which refuses to break.

Modifications to bike complete

I swapped out the windshield and seats.

I forge the brand of the windshield but it is a touch wider and allows me to see over the windshield while riding with a much superior wind pocket.

I opted for Sargent seats. I like how easy it is to slide on the seat plus I gain about an inch as the seat is lower and has a bit of a curve and a bit wider on the backside.

Unable to post pics from my iPhone into the forum. I can email pics of you want to see the changes.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
