Question dakar or not?

Hi, i'd like some info about the difference between the F 600 GS and the F 600 GS DAKAR. I just start to plan for a trip across Europe, India, east Asia and would like to know what you guys think would be the better between the two??

The major differences are:
The suspensions (Dakar much higher, more ground clearance, more suspension travel). The GS is suitable for short people. For the Dakar you should be 1m80+
The GS comes with a centrestand.
I am not 100% sure about the current models as mine were 2001 & 2002 but the old GS had a much smaller windscreen than the Dakar.
The GS comes with a 19" front wheel making it very difficult to impossible to get tires with good off road capabilities. This is IMHO not really an issue as the Dakar also does not star on dirt but it still is a lot more capable due to better tires.

Dakar or gs

i have a dakar and my girlfriend has the gs. i am 1m 70 cm and put the normal gs seat onto the dakar and i feel comfortable on it. Centre stands are available for the dakar and it has been invaluable. never been off roading on either, only dirt roads in OZ and my girlfriend was fine. Out of the 2 I prefer to ride her bike as it feels much nippier around town, but I haven't toured on it as she rides it. try them both before you buy
