What is the correct rear shock for the BMW R 80 GS Basic 1996?
When I looked at the Ohlins site, for the R 80 GS options, the last model year is 1994, but mine is Basic and it is 1996. So, what/which is the correct model for my bike? When I make a search with the model year 1994 it says 46PRCS and 46 DRS is the right models for the bike. If they are, which one is better for your opinion? Any experience is highly appreciated. Thanks,

Does not the 'basic' have teh same rear suspension as the GS from 1989 to 1994? Then the same shocks will fit it...
As for the 46PRCS and 46 DRS .. well the PRCS and DRS are simply options on the 46 body .. see the Ohlins web site ...

I think you will find its to do with clearances also you need to have a read on how to set each model up but your ohlins dealer will be able to advise you better if you want I can send you a picture of my setup pm me your email address |
