Correct F650GS twin (2009) battery?

Could somebody please confirm if this is the right battery I need for my F650GS twin (2009)?:

YTX14-BS

Reason I'm checking is that in the manual it says it should be 14Ah and this one says 12Ah

Thanks

The bigger the capacity the better, don't go down to a smaller capacity.

The Odyssey PC535 fits with a bit of modification but is around £100.

I just put one of the new Lithium batteries in ours. Shorai eXtreme-rate LFX Lithium Battery (LFX18A1-BS12)

Save heaps of weight, and because it's so small it makes an extra space for stuff.

I chickened out and went with the bigger of the two recommended, but now having used it for a while I am quite sure that the smaller one would be quite adequate unless the bike happens to have a lot of high current demanding accessories.

I got them from Adam at Rocket Moto.

The Lithium battery sounds very appealing! Anyone else here had experience of them - it seems to be suggesting that you need a special charger?

You don't really need the special charger. Although I bought one I have never used it, Just chucked the batteries in the bikes and went riding.

You can use an ordinary charger although there are some that are not recommended, there is a lot of info in several threads over on ADVRIder, or just ask Adam at Rocketmoto, he has always been very helpful whenever I have needed advice.

Thanks for that Mike

I've now ordered a Shorai LFX14A2-BS12

If you have any tips for maintenance of this battery please let me know. AFAIK it won't need any?

Do you find that this battery holds up as well if you were to leave it discharging (e.g. with an alarm on)?
