Cat Cod Plug for 1150GS

G'day
We ( wife & I ) are leaving australia in november this year for a trip from oz to europe throug aisa, india, middle east, up to switzerland. I have read and heard about the Cat Cod Plug for beemers to change the ignition timing for diverent ratings of RON in fuel. Here in australia the bike is tuned for 95 RON
or premium unleaded witch is the normal unleaded in europe, what about in aisa or india? Can anyone give me some advise on this and do i need a diffrent plug.
:scooter: thanks
Mark

1100 is tuned for RON95, no low-octane EFI mapping available as on 1150.

And it worked OK in Iran, with around 80 ocan petrol, leaded (red colored fuel) :)

I've heard the same about 1150GSes that "eat" low octane fuel well in stock EFI mapping. Also you're very probably only running low octane on temporarely occasions, too.

I'd say not a thing to worry about. Carry on :)

Just carry a spare fuel filter with you and best if you route the fuel filter outside the tank (much easier to replace the filter) - bad quality fuel clogging your fuel filter is a bigger problem than a "working" low octane fuel.

The plug is just an electrical link, nothing else inside the relay.

Open yours up and have a look inside. You can make your own with two spade connectors and a section of wire.
