BMW software F650GSDA

Does anyone know if you can get BMW software to run on a laptop to interface with the onboard computer ?

Cheers Geoff

I'm not sure of the nature of your question.
1)Are you asking about the BMW engine management software? Some other software?
2) If so, is it made available by BMW to the "general public"?
3) If it is available, can it be installed on a common PC?
(a few other questions then come to mind, such as what connections - serial, usb, other? - drivers included?)

I don't know the answer to the above question - either your's or mine. A quick search on the chaingang website doesn't mention this anywhere. I doubt it - sort of undermines the BMW dealership network.

You might search around a bit yourself, or ask them directly

- someone probably knows the answer.

Hijack the question

Hi Geoff,

sorry to post a reply that has nothing to do with your original question, but was advised to ask you about touring with the f650. It is pretty high up on my list of bikes to get - I want to do a trip through north/west Africa with my girlfriend, as well as have something I can get to work on while still saving.

Is this a viable two upper machine? Having scanned a million threads everyone agrees pillion comfort is important so want to make sure any bike I get is going to be comfortable for her - as well as fairing well on tarmac, and allowing me to go exploring on some more dusty roads. Any advice would be appreciated,

cheers

Duncan
