I know Neil here, in Kingston (BMW specialist. Link a bit broken: try again in a few days) or Dave here (general bike mechanic: not Brand specific.

Well recommended.
I dropped my R1100GS into him last month with an intermittant fault.
I had never used him before.
He spent 4 days tracing the problem to a Hall sensor; charged me for the sensor and only a token for labour.

Bike has run perfectly since.
He also tidied up a few other bits and pieces.

I can give another big thumbs up to Mark Holden in Bromley. He's good at sharing tips and tricks for you to make your own repairs and was a great help to me when I was preparing for a trip.

I bought a bike from Jap & German in Bermondsey and I think I could safely rate my experience with them as "underwhelming"
