Basic running issues
I posted on here a couple of years back re the exhaust configuration on my r80 gs basic paralever.. I changed from single balance pipe/collector box to keihan no balance pipe into a y-piece. The tail section remains the same. The bike ran roughly (and v loud) so I had the carbs overhauled, the bike idled quite smoothly but was still quite loud but throttle response was not great especially under acceleration where it was hesitant and lacked its previous power. There are no air leaks in the exhaust system.
I have e-mailed keihan and spoke to parts dealers in the UK who say that my old exhaust configuration is no longer available for the basic. Would appreciate any thoughts, would it be worth changing the carb jet sizes to compensate for the different exhaust? regards Mark |

Between this and your previous post I would say it is time to buy a new silencer, I have complete Keihan systems on an R80GS and R80G/S and both are quiet and run fine on standard carb settings, the note is a little deeper than the standard system but performance is not affected.
