Basic- ly

Met a guy form Manila last year at BMW event in Garmisch, he had a basic, he had travelled 33,000 kms to get to Garmisch and was feeling a little home sick, however he said he only had another 55,000 kms till he got home, said the Basic was the best bike he had ever known, never missed a beat

the Basic was the very last of the airhead gsers, produced 1995/96, only problem I found was the small petrol tank, to many fuel stops apart from that bukin frilliant

Never owned one, but I like them a lot!

Have the look of a no-nonsense, no-frills, get-you-anywhere type bike and I like that!!

The windscreen is a BMW-part (46 632 303 903), suggested price from BMW was 134€ a few years ago.

Beside E-bay you can try Motorworks ( Motorworks - BMW Motorcycle Spares - home )but I see the price here is 90£ for an used one. Siebenrock ( Siebenrock - BMW Motorräder & Teile ...alles ab /5 ) have lots of used parts but usually you have to mail/call them to check.

I have bought used parts from both sources above and I was not very pleased with Motorworks (dirty, old, expensive parts). I found Siebenrock better.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
