650 GS oil leak?

New bike to me.

Bike sat on the side stand and I notice a pool of oil. Look at the engine and nothing and then see its coming from under the seat. Oil has accumulated on top of the fuel pump (I assume that is what it is) and then runs down when on the side stand.

Any ideas why there would be oil there and how sinisiter this would be? What should i do. Not oil warning light after I've hit the ignition bu a large amount of oil is therel...

I'm brand new to the f650. Sounds a little raspy / bubbly when picking up the revs but smooth when holding at any RPM - is this typical?

No oil leaking or pooling is normal on any bike !!!

Time to really get to know your bike and get those spanners out !!

Well there's nothing you can do apart from strip the bike down and find out where the leak is coming from ! :innocent:

Problems on F650 sorted:mchappy:

It's tiresome reading your knee-jerk 'talk-the-talk' posts Ted :rolleyes2:- some of us actually get out there and 'walk-the-walk'. Try it sometime - it feels great to really help hands-on someone who needs it:smiliex: -and that, IMHO, is a big part of what HU is all about.

Thanks for all of your help Bert. Novice preparation is a steep learning curve. Unfortunately I have to travel it rather quickly... Sound advice and help is really appreciated!!
