2011 GS 1200 R Starting
 

My GS 1200 R from 2011 starts on its own the moment I out the key in and turn the ignition before pressing the start button.

It does not happen all the time but once in a while especially in cold weather.

The BMW garage in Inverness checked it and found no fault. But the mechanic did say if it happens it could damage the starter.

Has anybody faced similar problem? Why is it and how to fix it?
