Exclamation 2003 R1150GSA or 2005 R1200GS

Hi guys , I was ready to get a new toy and was fix on the Vstom but at my dealer I found 3 great bike and I can make a choice,2003 R1150GSA with 10000 miles,2005 R1200GS (not GSA) with 17000 miles,2007 DL1000 with 4000 miles. I want to use the bike for cross countries trip with my wife and luggages , the bikes are all in great shape and the price difference is few grounds so price is not really the problem, I will use the bike on road and a little off road (jeep trail...) they all seems good but wich one would you recommande for a trip arround the world 2 up able to cruise at 80 miles/H.( wife is looking for confort)
Need to make a commitment by monday.

Thanks

Hendi

Testride

Make a testride, together with your wife on the bike, before you decide!!

All 3 bikes are basicly good bikes but it has to fit you and your wife and there is only one way to find out. Ride it.

I always do. Even when a dealer does not want me to make a testride, I rather rent a bike for a day to test it, then to spend a lot of money and end up with a bike I don't realy like. That happened to me once and won't happen again.

Talking after testing DL1000/1150GS/1200GS

I was between bikes but after trying all of them here it is:

DL1000: great bike one up but design is not great off road ,passager and general look is not my style, with my wife on the bike you have very little room to move ( and we are not that big).No ABS ,I know that many riders don't like it and they do brake down but 2 up on a bike that heavy by rainy condition may change thier mind, I just remember that my first bikes didn't have dick brake and that now we cannot think about not having bike without them so lets get modern.

1150GS/1200GS: both bike are very similar ,the 1150 have better seat for pillon but is way more heavy than the 1200GS, the extra protection of the 1150 are good to have and the larger tank is great, the new engine of the 1200 is fun and the weight saving is good and make you more agile off road, the eight of the 1200 is lower than the 1150GS.

Result is I am now owner of a 1200GS

thanks for your help.
