2001 F650 dakar mystery clutch cover bolt
 

As I removed the clutch cover today this object dropped out. Can anyone out there identify it? The ruler dimensions are in cm and on the back of the object are the words ARA sweden 10 which I assume are the manufacturer's name and the object's size.

I've checked the manual and searched all the available BMW fiches on the chain-gang site and I can't identify it.

It has been rather battered by the clutch assembly. I guess it is a pipe-tie of some sort, but if it was on the pipe then the actual bolt should be separate from the tie. So maybe some errant mechanic has forgotten to refit the pipe properly, or simply dropped it.

The last time the bike had any work done on it was last September, so it has been in there for some time.
