1200GS Ignition Switch
 

2 weeks ago my motorcycle broke down. My BMW on Vancouver Island says I need a new ignition switch. They also told me there isn't a spare switch anywhere in the world!!! Why?? Why would BMW not make enough spare parts to service their motorcycles. One of the reasons I purchased a BMW is because of their service record. This is the third time in a year that I have not experienced this service. I am told it will be at least another 2 weeks before one is made. :( Brian

Do you mean the red button on top of the kill switch?
If yes, ask to get this part from the service, open it, clean all contacts and it will start working.
I have had some corrosion problems with my turn signals and after cleaning them they have worked perfectly.
