1150GSA extra oil

I just started to maintain by 1150 and after doing the valve /tbs/oil change I realised that I put a bit too much oil in the engine(almost to the top of window), the question is simple:how do I take off the extra oil.

Clean out your oil drain pan and open the plug on the sump just like you did with the old oil. Once the oil has drained pour it back into the bottle and refill.

Sometimes you can get a plastic tube like fish tank air hose down the filler and suck out oil with a turkey baster or similar, but it's just as much hassle and you risk something falling in.

While the oil is draining, consider popping down to your local supermarket/kitchen shop and buying (or steal one from your wife/mother/girlfriend/other) a plastic measuring jug? Measure the old oil out, wash the jug in petrol and dry, put the same amount of new oil back and the insane readings in some hideous plastic sight glass on the motor can go hang until you've ridden a few miles and it's had time to settle.

Are you sure?

The oil head engines can be difficult when it comes to reading the oil level. First, how much did you pour into the engine? Always pour in 3.75 litres, or 4 quarts of oil after changing the filter. Ride the bike, leave on it's side stand for a few minutes, then leave on it's center stand for 10 minutes, THEN check your sight glass. If you still see light at the top if the glass, your fine.

I did put 4 quart and change the oil filter , I started the bike and run it arround the block then Icheck the level, after that I didn't want to hurt the engine by riding with too much oil in it.

If you put exactly four quarts, or 3.75 litres in the bike, your fine. I had this problem working in the shop all the time. You put in the recomended amout and it fills the glass to the top, you think there's too much oil, but in fact there is exactly what is prescribed. A little bit too much will be fine. But, say you poured in 1/2 a litre too much, which would mean opening another bottle, you may have a problem down the road.

I check the oil after riding and still too high , barely can see the top of the window, what are the risk of hurting the engine , maybe it will be better if I do take some oil??

OK , I checked everything and after taking out 200ML the level came back to normal ??,I guess next time I will put only half of last quart before checking it.
