Need a bike in Costa Rica Feb/Mar 2009
I'm flying into San Jose on Feb 22 and need to come up with a dual-sport bike for use until Mar 17th, or there abouts. I plan to tour Costa Rica and need a dual-sport bike to ride along with a friend from Dominical who will be on his Honda Africa Twin.
A Honda NX400 would be perfect, but I'm not choosy. I'm an experienced moto-traveler, but on a tight budget. I'm willing to trade one of my bikes here in the states to any Tico who wants to come up to the USA and ride anytime. I'm open to any leads that might result in borrowing, renting, or buying (and selling at the end of the trip) a bike, so please notify me even if it seems like a far-out idea (Like, "I've got a friend of a friend who has an old bike in his garage that doesn't run, but if you could get it running he might let you borrow it for a nominal fee."). Thanks! |

Wild Rider
Contact Wild Rider in San Jose. They have newish DR 650 for around $70 per day.
I rented a XT 600 from them a few years back ,paid cash and got a 10% discount. Good folks to deal with.

Thanks for the Wild Rider tip. I too rented a DR650 from MotosCostaRica back in 2005, and had good luck with them also. But this time I was hoping to find a more economical option.
