Life swap.

Not really a life swap, but read on and find out.

I've always been interested in riding route one on the west coast. But the problem has always been the money. The cost has been too high. Now I live in Norfolk in the UK. Have two bike's that can be used. So I'm looking for someone who would look at swapping your life style for mine. You can use my place and bike's. As for insurance. The best idea I can think of is. I'll put your name on my insurance as an extra rider and pay the cost. You do the same at your end. That way all I have to find is the air fare food and petrol.

It's just a germ of an idea. Who knows where it may go.

Sounds a good idea - think you mean a House / Bike Swap rather than a life. Unless you expect someone to go to work for you too? :)
Swapping houses and cars is quite common, especially with people from the states and australaisia. I suggest you find out about any insurance clauses before offering to swap bikes. I'd be interested in what you find out.

I don't mind if you want to go to work for me but I am going to have to keep my wife if you don't mind.

I've had a look at that site before. To me it's a cough up some money and take your chance. I can understand someone asking for money to keep the site on the web. But to charge what they are charging, to me is a bit rich.

I talked to my insurance once before when this came up last year. And an add on was the easiest way out.

I've been in TABs for years, and only had to pay the fee once at the start. It's been a good system for me.

Bike Swap Australia BMW R1150rt

Hi all,

David here, from Sydney, Australia. I'm interested in the idea of swapping bikes with someone in the UK, Europe or North America.

Here is the idea.

I come to you in June/July 2012 and ride around for approx 3-4 weeks. You come to Australia and ride my '02 Bmw R1150rt at a time which suits you.

I've been riding for 29yrs and am a Marine Engineer by profession. My bike is in first class condition and would take you anywhere...no problems.

If you are interested, please contact me and we can take it from there.

David

Hi David,

I could be very interested. I live in Southampton on the south coast of England and I have a Fazer 600 and/or a Triumph Tiger 1050 which you could use. Both have top boxes and I have some soft panniers but otherwise no luggage.

I am very near to Portsmouth for channel ferries to France but a long way from Scotland - possibly even by your standards!

Either reply to this or email me on tim.ray.lyons@gmail.com.

Best wishes.

Tim

Victoria BC and BMW F650GS this summer

Did you find a trade yet? You can ride Hwy 1 from here to LA. I did, a few times.

Well...

I am in Victoria BC, have a 2002 BMW F650GS, we could talk. Your Hwy 1 ride can go from here on ferry to WA state, and then you follow coast of 3 states south.

At the moment I have had some life changes. It would be a pitty to let it slip by. I have most of this year booked up for holiday's. Let me give this more thought.
Thank you for your response.
