probably too late for your trip, but perhaps useful for other people wishing to travel East-Africa on rented bikes:
Contact the uganda bikers association:

Unfortunately that link is no longer available: is there anyone who knows the new link or who has an answer to the original question?
I'm starting thinking about next trip...

Thank you for your info Morani, really interesting.
I already have a contact in Kampala (thank you, Uganduro) but as It's longtimes I know nothing from him, I have to start looking around for some alternatives as I wouldn't have to ride Uganda by car (and, also in this case, I'll have to book one in advance).

I dig up this thread to publicly thank you, Morani, for the motorbikes you gave us, and to let everyone know that in Uganda is possible to rent a motorbike that will do its job.
We hired 3 Honda Baja 250 and, apart some minor problems, they took us to our destination everyday.
Thank you, thank Chris and to your likeable mechanic (I forgot the name...).

And also thank Uganduro and Donato for the help.

PS: it was a very interesting trip, even if I spent only 2 weeks.

Boda Boda

There are a lot of Bajaj's boda boda in Uganda.
I would like to rent it in Kampala for about 2 weeks.
Any help in organizing from abroad?

Cheers!
Michal

Hello Machy, if you are interested only in Bajaj I can't help you, but if you are looking for a motorbike I suggest to look at the signature of Morani in this thread, or to contact him with a private message. I rented 3 motorbikes from him last august, 2 weeks. I can't say we had no one problem, but they were only minor problems who didn't force us to change our plans.
Bye!
