Thailand, Chiang Mai, New Biker's bar/restaurant/rooms

A new bar opened up in Chaing Mai mid December, run by an English guy, Phillip and his lovely wife. They offer good food, drink, rooms and Phillip is an experienced traveller in Asia.

There always seem to be m/c travellers and local bikers in there and I'm sure that it'll take off.

Rider's Corner is at 357 Moon Muang road - easy to find inside the top right corner of the city canal.

I stayed there during the HU meeting and did their website. You can check it out Rider's Corner Restaurant and Bar. It is in the moat. Well, not IN the moat, but in the moat area. It is a good place to meet other travelers as well as some of CM's huge biking community.

Rider's Corner - The Motorbike Traveller's Center

Rider's Corner has become the motorbike travelers touch point when passing through Chiang Mai. They've expanded their services to include: bar and restaurant, map sales, motorbike rentals, motorbike souvenir T-shirts, and their 4-5 rooms for rent (no reservations accepted). They can also book travelers quality and legal motorbike tours for Thailand, and even into China through Laos.

Groups and individuals from around the world can be found chilling and swilling throughout the year. Occasionally they offer AYCE buffets which are considered the best in Chiang Mai.

www.riderscorner.net is their cyber home.

For the last several years they have been hosting the annual Horizons Unlimited January confab.

In 2014 they made an association with the motorbike friendly Tony's Place in Nan.

It's been rewarding to see a motorbike travelers friendly location expand to meet travelers requests over the years, a place where serious and key motorbike adventurers can just drop in and be warmly accepted.

In 2015 they are again hosting the Horizons Unlimited January gathering and (Top Secret) welcoming attendees with free draft beer for an hour on the first evening. Very accommodating.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
