The place which he runs with his wife Mariem is simple, clean and cozy. I had a room with attached bathroom and fan for 40 ringit. Zeck has other options, more expensive or cheaper. Your bike is parked safely at the compound. A good place to eat is Golden Flower in the main street, chinese with
for a reasonable price. Zeck is not very fond of
parties.
Kuantan: Kompo Villa, coordinates: N 03 49 194 E103 20 013. Kuantan is not a very inspiring town but if you have to be there or just for a stop over: Kompo Villa, located on walking distance from the city centre. It is a brand new house and you get a big room. I paid 50 ringit for an airconditioned room with attached bathroom but for 40 ringit you can get an airconed one with shared bathroom. Your motorbike is parked safely at the compound behind a fence. Sorry, no breakfast, no coffee and not as cozy as Zeck's place. It's a bit sterile. Melaka: Apa Kaba Guesthouse, coordinates: N 02 11 549 E 102 15 259. Wow, what a place: hospitable, clean and cheap! Just 35 ringit for a one person room, including breakfast. Your motorbike is parked safely in a really nice garden and Kenny, the owner, covers it to protect the sadle against the cats. Toppy!
Kuala Tahan: Park Lodge, coordinates: N 04 22 659 E 102 23 960. Park Lodge is well maintained, quiet and on walking distance from the jeti. Your motorbike finds a nice place in the garden and it will get a cover from Abdul, the owner of Park Lodge. I paid 60 ringit for a room including breakfast and as much coffee or tea as you want. Johor Bahru / Permas Jaya: Lavender Inn, coordinates: N 01 29 787 E103 49 045. Adress: G16/17/18, Block B, Permas Mall, Jalan Permas Utara, Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru. Tel.: 07-3882007. If you don't want to pay ridiculous prices for accommodation in Singapore, Johor Bahru is a good alternative. Permas Jaya is a suburb. Lavender Inn is a good place to stay. 63 ringit ppn, no breakfast. From the main road take bus 123 to JB sentral and from there the Causeway Link to Singapore. Piece of cake.
