It might have been beautiful and clean in 2009. In 2011 I stayed there and it wasn't that great.
Ok it's fairly quiet, but not very well maintained. There are a lot of guesthouses for 200bt and less on the Southern part of Ratpakina road, in the city, one of the roads running from North to South. There's also backpacker accomodation around Soi in yellow, Rathviti road and inside from there, follow the small lanes, there are dorms for 100bt. On the inside of the moat, on the North-Eastern corner, there's Riders bar/gh. They might be a bit more pricey, around 500bt or so, don't know, never stayed there. Most places have a place to put your bike. If not in a garden, inside the restaurant. Places to go out and have some s include: soi in yellow, it's a corner with a couple of different pubs. One has live rock music, other one is reggae, soi in yellow itself is a bit more contemporary music. There's the place in Rathviti, the grill, where there's the yearly HU meeting in January. If you need more info, PM me. HTH
