Colombia, Cali - hostel & bike rental

After completing a 8 month South, Central & North America bike adventure I married a Colombian girl moved to Cali in Southern Colombia and opened a bike tour and rental business and a biker friendly hostel - all in one year (2008).

We have secure parking, super location, hot water, free Wi-Fi, private doubles, private twins and dorm beds

The rental & tour fleet consist of 1 x Kawasaki KLR 650 (more coming soon), 1 x Aprilia ETV1000, 2 x Dinli DMX 450 quads (for offroad tours near Cali).

Many bike mechanics in our sector. Two blocks away is maybe the best bike mechanic in Colombia "Asturias", also there's a bike race and motocross shop, the BMW, Kawasaki and Suzuki dealers and G2 motorsports that sell KTM, Aprilia, BMW and many more. There's also Can-am and a couple of spare part shops, so Cali is a good place to stop for service before heading into "nothing to get -land" in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.

So please feel free to drop by anytime for a good time!

Safe parking

It might be close to bike shops and it might be clean, cheap and a lot of other good things, but it is not what I would call "bike friendly". For me, the most important thing is always secure parking, but there was none. We had to park our bike in a public parking lot 100 m away. OK, the bike was still there in the morning, but I would have liked better if it would have been stored on the hostel's premises, be it a garage, a garden, a courtyard or something else.

Also, there are no lockers in dormitories, where one could put his/her stuff securely.

Or maybe it was just me who expected too much from a hostel run by a biker(?)

A little criticism if I may, Margus

Criticism is always welcome as we try hard to be the best and I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you because you where only in the hostel few hours. I always try to make everyone feel welcome and supply essential information about the road ahead and help everyone with their bikes or problems or wishes in general.

So please when you criticize be accurate:
- You forget to tell we DO have a in-house garage. Sorry it was full of bikes and all our private rooms also where full the night you arrived without a reservation.
- And sorry that you had to walk three houses down the road to our associate secure barbwire-fenced and covered parking lot with 24 hour watchman (with gun) to park your bike alongside other biker guests bikes.
- And sorry you never got to use our safety box for your valuables.

Keep it real and safe travels!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
