Colorado, Leadville - Hostel
Leadville Hostel
Street parking but its a very quiet, safe little town. Incredibly friendly hostel run by a master story teller called 'Wild Bill'. It was around $35/night for a double room for us two, dorm rooms are cheaper though (check the website). Quality blues music is played all day from the kitchen where Bill and his team knock up a great 'all you can eat' buffet dinner and breakfast. Leadville seems to have a fascinating history and Bill knows all the stories. The hostel is located at the meeting point of around 3 main hiking trails including the Continental Divide so a lot of walkers use the place but Bill was very excited to have long distance overland bikers staying. It's run like a home as it basically IS his home. So if you're in the area, drop by.
