Suggestions for places to Stay Amalfi coast.

Leaving Belgium on Monday 22nd July two up. Back to the UK 4th August.

No camping. Like to do something different than the normal running around Europe with a tent.

Budget about £50 a night.

I would like to spend several days at a time in different locations including perhaps the Amalfi coast.

All ideas gratefully received as I seem to be struggling with inspiration at the moment.

In anticipation of your kind suggestions many thanks.

Ps

We shall be traveling on a Pan so no off road suggestions but all wiggly road suggestions will be pushed to the top of the pile.

Peter.

Definitely stay in Amalfi itself and stay away from the more touristy Positano.

My blog on Amalfi Day 1 day 2 day 3 day 4 day 5

Make sure you read day 3 and if you are going to do the Blue Grotto on Capri - do not under any circumstances get a boat there. Hire a scooter and ride to the top of the hill and walk down the stairs.

Good info there Scooter.

Will read the whole blog when I have more time but enjoyed the pages you have posted above.

Thanks

Hi, we passed through Amalfi earlier this year (unfortunately early season so many things closed) but had a great time (as we have done there on other occasions). There's some info on our blog about a couple of fantastic towns further south and in the Puglia (top of the 'heel') area.
Didn't go this time round but one place you absolutely should not miss is the Roman city of Paestum, about 40 minutes south of Amalfi. Superb temple ruins (3), amphitheatres, ruined town etc that was only discovered about 100 years ago when road builders were putting a road through what was then swampland.
Best ruins outside Rome and, better still, few people know about it. Plenty of accommodation available around the ruins - beaches nearby.

Had a great time. 3500 miles done. No hiccups. Except a stolen camera but managed to get it back.
