Montenegro, Budva, hostel

Hippo hostel
ul. IV Proleterska, 37

You'll need to ask directions for this one, it isn't signposted anywhere. Great hostel (with a couple of private rooms), with garden, BBQ and parking! And beach 5 mins away. English-owned, shop across the road sells cheap .

Hello Laura,
thanks for all the adresses and places you posted. Doing about the same route as you're so that's much appreciated!

Do you have GPS coordinates for some of these places by any chance? PM me if you don't want them to be public and of course I post the good spots as well, as soon as I'm finished with my trip.

Cheers
buebo

That's great!

Forgive my ignorance, but how did you find the place? I checked with Google Maps and Earth but both don't have street names on it...

Only logical explanation I have is that you where actually on the trip yourself

Lightbulb

nope!
just doing some research to try and give you an answer-
combination of web page, finding hotels & motels using GE, then cross referencing to nearest big hotel then norrowing the field with GE.
Note: the lat & long is my guestimate- probably accurate to give or take 300 to 500 meters but should be near enough.
everything you want is here Hippo Hostel, Budva, Montenegro
if yuo still can't find it, locate both the Hotel Max Prestige - and if you pass that on your left, take the next road left.

If only people could not just recommend a place but give GPS coords- it would be fabulous !
Laura... cough..cough

Sorry, I did it the old-fashioned way with maps, directions, asking questions and luck! The info in each post is all I have...

Talking

the old fashioned way is good too Laura but I confess to being a victim of gps lazyness - it's just soooo much easier to find things or explain where there are across many language barriers with it .

GPS's probably work better when all the signs turn unexpectedly to cyrillic, too!!

buebo, the hostel's website has a map, which should give you a rough idea of where it is, to that I can add that you turn off the main road through Budva at a roundabout (away from the sea), that road then splits and you want the right-hand fork - hopefully a combination of this and the map will get you there, it may be that there is only one roundabout on the main road but not sure enough to post those as directions on their own, don't want to be accused of leading people up the garden path

Laura

PS buebo if you get a chance when it Montenegro, there's a small road that runs from the main road just south of Zabljak to the main road between Niksic and Sarajevo, through Durmitor National Park, one of the most amazing roads of my whole trip!

Garden paths are usually where some BBQ's are often found so I wouldn't worry Laura
and I have tried to get my gps to show cyrillic but unless I 'Rusky-fy' it, it will not do it- Grrrr!
The compromise is to have mapping on a something like an Asus running under windows that will display such fonts and use Nroute software on it with gps attached to PC via USB. but this is not the most practical nor elegant solution on 2 wheels
Hope you are having fun out there!
