Le Havre

Any recommendations for the Environs of Le Havre? Somewhere within 30mins of the harbour would be fab (ferry arriving 1830hrs-ish), and easy to find ideally. Found the Formula 1 place but an alternative would be nice...

Hi pottsy,
If you don't get something more specific, I have found hotels using this site (combined with online mapping, you could find the best for you):-

As the Hotels thrown up are way too pricey for my budget, any camping options near to town (the nearest i can find is some 50km away
:stormy:).

try this chain......

I've used these many times. Cheap, clean, many have secure parking. They have two in Le Havre one in Hornfleur about 10 mile out.

B&B Hotels

They are, IMHO, a cut above most of the cheapo range. They have free wifi as well if that's a benefit to you.

There's loads of free wild camping around if you're discreet and observant.......

Just for information, those hotels thrown up in the search engine are in decreasing order of price i.e. it shows the top price ones first - as you scroll down you can see places which are much better value.

A further thought: look on the internet for "logis" hotels - they are usually quality places at reasonable prices.
