Biker-friendly hotels in Marrakech?

Hi there,
We're planning a trip through France & Spain to Morocco in July this year. We're aiming for Marrakech and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for biker-friendly (ie. secure) accommodation there, and also possibly in Fez? As we have only been able to get third party insurance we are particularly keen to find somewhere safe for the bike.

we are doing the very same trip in july .ive been looking at hotels in morocco but none seems to have lock up parking but a lot of hotels seem to have all night sercurity so ill try and get the bike very close to the main hotel entrance and with the pan having a alarm and chain it should be ok .

I was three weeks in Morocco on a bike and used a few hotels. I don't think anyone is that interested in stealing a bike bigger than 50cc. They are more interested in the luggage. In Marrakech, we stayed in a hotel right on top of the big square in front of the souks. I can't remember the name now, but it was an old bus garage and we put the bikes inside along with the other guests cars. They really cram the cars in and it was brilliant when anyone wanted their car as they had to drive about 20 cars out on the street everytime and then put them back. Our bikes were in the farthest corner.

In Fes the bikes were parked on the street outside the hotel with a guard patrolling. We had no problems with bike security as the guard is waiting for your tip when you leave, so keeps a good eye out on your behalf.

Just back from a trip through Spain to Morocco. We didnt go as far as Marrakech but in Fes we stayed in Hotel de la Paix on Boulevard Hassan II in the Ville Nouvelle part. Its a relatively cheap and comfy place. They were quite happy to let us chain our bikes up at the front of the hotel and the guard watched them all night in exchange for a few dirhams. No problems at all.

Been to Morocco a couple of times now and not had any problems with the bike. At one point I stayed in Fes at a hostel in the new town, but took the bike around the corner to a posh hotel. The parking gardian kept an eye on the bike there for a couple of dirham. Just a note though, make sure you agree the total cost with the gardian directly, not through the reception desk, etc.

I had more problems in remote areas where invariably I'd come to the bike in the morning to find all the switchs and fuel tap in odd positions. One day it took me a good while to realise that the reason the bike wasn't starting was because the fuel tap had been closed by inquisitive fingers overnight.
