Accommodation - Amsterdam (with secure bike parking)

Hi All

As the title says, there will be 3 of us and 3 bikes looking to stay for a night in Amsterdam at the end of a trip before sailing back to the UK. I was told about a hostel that let you lock the bikes in a cage but the name eludes me.....

Any suggestions please, the cheaper the better (Youth Hostels, B&B's Etc)

Thanks in advance...

Anyone have any ideas??

which date are you in amsterdam on ? I do some consultancy work with an accommodation company, who do hotels/hostels in amsterdam. I can ask someone there to try and find a place with secure bike parking.

cheers

"In the city, there are no hotels with parking. The Hotel Casa 400 is a bit outside of the city, but completely new and they have a car park. So, am sure you can put your bike there as well.

Xaviera Happy House has one as well. This is a B&B of the Famous Xaviera ;)"

these are from the pool of establishments offered on Amsterdam cheap hotels, hostels, apartments and b&bs, Amsterdam30, you should be able to find them on the website and book online. if you need any more info let me know.

there's no mention of a cage. you might want to try some sports bikes forums, those guys will be heading out for the Assen GP every year, and they'll be more likely to look for secure parking.

cheers

Why not contacting a community?
I know there is a guy in the community living near Amsterdam, for sure he will help you out and you can park a lot of bikes at his house.

Garages

You could use a guarded garage and walk to your hotel, there are several in the city centre. Examples:

near city hall (stopera)
Stadhuis/muziektheatergarage

near the dam
Parkeergarage de Bijenkorf

near central station (IBIS hotel just across)
https://www.p1.nl/boekingen/

There are many more throughout the city so you could just email your potential hotel about it.

If you stay 2 nights maybe you could rent a (relatively cheap) cabin on Zeeburg camping, I imagine the camping is guarded and you'd have the bikes right next to you. I never stayed there so do ask them.

This looks like a great place. I'm ending my trip in Amsterdam, so this is really helpful - thanks.

Adam-UK - when are you in Amsterdam?
