Accommodation - France

http://www.laroserouge.com/

For anyone looking at doing so touring around France I can highly recommend this B&B. great facilities and bikers themselves. The scenery is out of this world and the roads are just mind blowing. We plan on heading down there again next year to do the rest of the road and trails around the volcano region.

B&B compromises of 2 upstairs rooms with private entrance to in and out of the garage and workshop. There is also private smoking room. But Martin and his family welcome anyone to join in with them for dinner and a few drinks and we had an amazing time with the family.
There is about a solids weeks worth of riding to be had there and even then I would say you wouldn’t cover all the roads/volcanoes/lakes that there is to be seen.

I will post some pics up of the local area and some of the places we were during the stay in Aubusson.

When such occurs it is often because the website URL in no longer "active" i.e. is up for sale.

Anyway, the clue for you is in the town name of Aubusson.
The old volcanic (now all non-active) area of France is, broadly, to the west of Clermont Ferrand, more or less in central France.
SW of Clermont F is an interesting area of volcanic peaks - Monts D'Ore or some such name.

You could run a search for any of those key words and come across lots of accommodation around there.

A really nice and welcoming guest house for motorcyclists because Andrea and Jean-Noel are, and there's even enough to do mechanics.

Between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean they are ideally placed to discover the Pyrenees.

Bienvenue au gîte et chambre d' hôtes de la place Carlo Guzzi !

I know this is a few years old,. But just in case anyone else is wondering about this, unfortunately Martin, the proprieter at la Rose Rouge, is no longer with us, and passed away from a long term Illness a few years ago.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
