MEXICO, Cosoleacaque near Minatitlan, Ver

We were having trouble finding a hotel/hostel/campground with bike parking in Minatitlan when met the son from this family-run hotel (about 10 km from Minatitlan) on his Vespa and he led us to this hotel.

Hotel Cosoleacaque
Hidalgo No 222
(Between Calles Correos and Juarez)
Cosoleacaque, Ver
Tel 922 264 17 03
Cel 044 922 220 18 79

I forgot to note the GPS coordinates of the actual hotel.
From N 18 00 023 W 094 38 217 heading away from Minatitlan, take the first left (Juarez) and then first right (Hildago). Hotel Cosoleacaque is on your left.

The cost was Mex $350 for a double room with A/C and ensuite bathroom - not budget accomodation, I know, but there is secure parking for bikes (or cars) and wireless internet access.

At the moment there is building work going on during the day - but this didn't disturb us.

It is a short walk from the hotel to the mercado - a bustling market - and plenty of good, inexpensive eating options.

The family is very nice and helpful. The son, Ivvin, speaks excellent English, is very adventurous and enthusiastic about motorcycle travel, but he works in Mexico City and isn't always at the hotel in Cosoleacaque.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
