Auberge without running water. No moskito net. Toilet is a shack in the backyard. The usual stuff.

The host first wanted 5'000CFA, I gave him 3'500, he seemed to be very happy.

Parked my motorcycle in the yard where it was more or less hidden from the road and guarded. The host still advised me to take all my luggage off.

Installations for running water are there but weren't functional when I visited. Moskito net in place.

Official price is 5'000CFA, but because the president was visiting the clerk raised the price to 10'000CFA, trying to take the additional 5'000 in his own pocket. After 30min I got the room for 5'000.

No running water except for a tap in the yard which doesn't work half of the time because the guy responsible for the pump is angry with the whole village. In his opinion they're snitches because they called the police after he beat his girlfriend to pulp.

Anyway: no moskito net, lots of insects. Seriously lots of crawly stuff from moskitos to scorpions.

3'000CFA for the simple room, 5'000CFA with TV.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
