Urgently need tires for vfr800

Hello all,

I am currently in Eden, NSW with a vfr800 that needs new tires ASAP!
It being a Saturday after a public holiday I am having trouble finding some to change them. I can get tires from mick cole in Bega but their workshop is not open today. I need to be back in Melbourne, VIC tomorrow night. Is there anyone out there that can help?

Many thanks in advance.

Leon

Try car tyre places - they may be able to change the tyres for you ... but you'll need to bring the new tyres with you. "mick cole" might advise on suitable places? Other than that ring around..

"Won't touch a motorcycle" ... no, you don't want them too either ... however they might change the tyres .. if YOU remove the wheels and have the new tyres to mount. If they are strict they may not let you 'work' on your motorcycle on their property .. legal insurance reasons.. but you can do it on the side of the road.

The other alternative is to use tyre irons on your rims .. and you may mark them. Depends on your tyre irons, skills and practice, the stiffness of the tyres.

Other than that .. your stuck. Or your bike is. You could leave the bike behind .. and bus/hire car back .. then return and pick up the bike later. Depends on how much you "need to get back". $$$

That's very true, we've made the descsion to stay til Monday and get them changed. Work was the only reason to get back and the boss has been very generous. Just have to kill the time now.

Thanks again mate.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
