Arriving in Australia in July 2007 from India. Doing the Giant Loop, 60days time.
Anyone doing the same route (doing it anticlockwise, sydney to sydney) at the same time ?

Am thinking of doing the Aus circuit. You mentioned July but I had planned to do it a bit later because interior Oz can be very cold at night in winter.
In case you haven't been here before, the Eyre Hwy is can be freezing and very changeable. Only the top third is what I'd call warm.
What's the plan? Stay in pubs, camp out, mixture of both?
How far do you want to ride each day, rough max.
What's the route? Are you a racer or a cruiser?

what would you call a long ride... im planing on getting in an overnighter every other month while im saving up my hollidays if your intersted. I mainly ride solo but another rider to listen to my incoherant ramblings about motorcycle travel would be nice.
