Stuck in Sydney

Hi guy's!

We got stuck in Sydney.... the flight with our bikes from NZ didn't start due to bad weather..

Anyone any good ideas where to find cheap accomodation near the airport/port (close to Banksmeadow where the warehouse is)??
Living in the hotel for a week is not planned in budget... :-)

Thanks for every idea!

You're right, Sydney is not cheap.

You might be better off staying in a backpackers around Central station then catch the train out to the airport especially if you don't have a bike. Otherwise all hotels near the airport are expensive.

You should also try the HUBB community, maybe someone has a bed on offer in the area...

Good Luck!

Accommodation - but its at Lake Macquarie just south of Newcastle

I can offer you accommodation for a week - but its at Toronto, Lake Macquarie so North of Sydney and definately not close to the airport. On the positive side its a cheap (less than $20) if slow (2-3 hour)railway ride from the airport to virtually my front door and Newcastle is in this years Lonely Planey guide as one of the top 10 cities in the world to visit! PM me if interested

If you've got a week why not stay somewhere like Cronulla and be on the beach. Easy train ride from the city and I'm sure there's a youth hostel / backpackers down there.

Hi guy's!

Thanks for your reply's!

After we had a look for the backpackers in Town, we decided it would be better to stay at the formule1 at the airport.

We got told our bikes arrived today (sunday) and we have to organise customs and Quarantaine tomorrow morning.....

We're hopefull to leave Sydney tomorrow night or tuesday.

THX!!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
