shortwave radio

If you are just looking for times and frequencies of European sw radio do a web search of the various countries' radio services eg France under RFI ( Radio France International, Germany - Deutsche welle de., Netherlands - Wereldomroep.nl , England BBC etc.etc. , you get the idea.) Each one will have their broadcast schedule with time and frequency and target areas.
Most wil also have online streaming of their broadcasts, and it seems to me they are letting the actual shortwave transmitting deteriorate.
Shortwave radio used to be so interesting but the last few decades it has really gone downhill with all the crackpot evangelical nutbars from the USA setting up studios in anybody's kitchen or garage.Every second station one bumps into seems to be one of those whackos

Hey Roco
I was thinking about a similar thing. I've got a hand-held Uniden 40 channel UHF I use to monitor the truckies when on the highway. I don't suppose it's going to work in Europe???
Regards
Mick

A quick google search reveals...
"... a list of English language shortwave frequencies audible in Canberra"
Shortwave Frequency List - Canberra Australia

LATER EDIT: Doh! Didn't read carefully, see post below.

Think he wants to listen to Oz radio when in Europe?

.. Google "Radio Australia frequencies europe" gets

Radio Australia - Tuning In - How to listen in Europe. ... Listed frequencies are the best available during listed time slots. Please adjust your receiver ...
Radio Australia - Tuning In - How to listen in Europe

---- UHF (Ultra High Frequency) is not SW (short wave) ...

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
