Hi Alantino - I have just done Sydney to Sydney (19,882 km) in 137 days in a UK Land Rover. I suggest you check out my website www.adventurise.com and read through the diary page for guidelines. Our top five places were: The Kimberleys (NW Oz), The Flinders Range (2 hours north of Adelaide), The Victorian Alps (2hrs north of Melbourne), The great outback on the Northern Territory) & The Oodnadatta track next to Coober Pedy. Have a great trip and feel free to email me for questions or tips.

Have a bed, beer, food and local advice available when you get to Brisbane. Be sure to look me up.

Alan, those Drop Bears are more dangerous than people make out, you know. Especially the ones that hang around outside pubs, late at night! Make sure Sue wears her Kevlar undies....
And to all those who are rash enough to offer Alan and Sue some hospitality; beware!! I did that about 4 years ago, and now the buggers are good mates... Watch out, it may happen to you too. ;-)

Regards

other highlights

make sure you dont miss the great ocean road (very well known) when you are here it is probbably one of the most scenic roads to ride in Australia, it runs along the coast of south western Victoria almost to the South Australian boarder...

When you get up in Northern NSW's if you have a chance to head inland from Coffs Harbour to Dorrigo and then out along back roads you will link up to the Grafton - Armidale road this is also a good run (newly surfaced and sweeping bends)

Let us know when you arive in sunny Brisbane happy to help out, we will be back here by then.... there are a few HU members here who try and catch up occasionally...

At least in Australia you have no problems with snow snakes. They kill more outdoorsmen/women than all the mountain lions combined.

Has anyone here done this before, any advice, do's and don't's etc.
The bike of choice at moment is a Suzuki V-Strom 650, but this may change.

Any comment appreciated.

Hi Alan,
Great choice of bike I think. In fact at the moment over here in Adelaide you can pick one up for an incredible $10,000 plus onroads etc and the dealer will throw in a Tom Tom Gps -Wow! So if this deal is not available in Un Zud send me the money and I'll pick one up for you and look after it really well

As for the race track here - Mallala has club racing http://www.caferacerclub.com/index.html
this club has spawned the likes of Steve Martin - currently racing for Foggy in WSB and Billy Macconnell - currently racing in BSB

And nobody would disagree that we have some of the very best motorcycling roads starting 15 mins from the centre of the city :thumbup1:

Ah yes! Adelaide is not so bad.
