Around Aus in June

Hi All,

Been lurking on the Hubb for ages, and thought I should finally chime in! My wife and I will be riding around Australia in June for four months, the purpose is for an on-going article of the website we write for. (OneWheelDrive.Net - Home)

Obviously this is a very general question at this stage, our main idea is to start in Sydney or Bris, depending on where we can get bike shipping cheaper to, then a counter clock wise trip around, venturing to the center around Tennant Creek.

Just hoping to get some ideas for bike friendly accommodation in any areas people deem worth seeing?

Smile Just returned!

I just returned from my Around Oz 2008 trip. It was fantastic. I started in Aug in Melbourne and returned to Melbourne (going counter clockwise) in December (had to be home before Christmas to keep her happy) 14,555 miles. Look in here if you like. www.horizonsunlimited.com/tstories/rickmcd
I would be glad to answer any questions you might have.

Rick - thanks for the heads-up about your Aussie trip .. which does indeed look fantastic .. .. I'll have a real good read of your blog-account sometime during this weekend.

I intend to import (under cover of a carnet) my New Zealand-based Honda XL650V TransAlp into Australia sometime next year to undertake a similar 4-month tour. Can I also contact you for some pre-planning advice? which I'm sure will be invaluable.

Thanks

KEITH

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
