Helmut,
When you get here, go into any newsagency and buy a magazine called "JustBikes" (AUD$2.50). It has bikes for sale from all over Oz.
Cheers Ben

If you are in Perth, WA, you could try Munich Motorcycles, they currently have two R100GS's. They seem to get European travellers who sell their bikes when in Perth. And it goes without saying...'Caveat Emptor (sp?)'.

Cheers & s

You might also consider posting on the TRAVEL Bikes for Sale / Wanted Forum. Here's a recent post from there:

Best PLACE in Australia surely is Melbourne Elizabeth Street...

...many Shops, lots of new and used bikes, spare parts, garages and everything you need for motorbikes...

G'day Mascot,
Gee, prices, well that question is very loaded, anywho, try contacting Paul @ Munich Motorcycles, I don't have their contact details with me (I'm overseas) however there is a link within links at this website. I left a standing order with Paul any time a second hand R80/100 GS came by to contact me. A lot of overseas travellers sell their bikes in Perth at Munich Mototcyles, another seller of 'Beemers' is Auto Classic and I left a standing order with them also.

I got a bit tired of waiting so now I'm the proud (and broke) owner of a new Tiger 955i.

Try Bikepoint

http://www.bikepoint.com.au

It is a huge online shopping mall of bikes from all around the country - several thousand bikes at any one time. It's also well organised and shows both private and dealer sales.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
